“Among the many aesthetic locations in the Ruhr area, my personal favourite is “Qian Yuan”, a classical southern Chinese Scholar’s garden which was donated to the Ruhr University Bochum by Tongji University of Shanghai in 1990. For me it symbolises the fusion of cultures. I realised this when an Indonesian artist on Instagram made a sketch using this picture taken by an Indian photographer (me) of a Chinese Garden in Germany. Astonishing how art can bring people together.”
